The viewers are mainly fans of sci-fi and supernatural elements. It became one of Netflix’s most watched and talked about series, drawing massive viewership.

The audience appreciated this show due to its nostalgic appeal with its retro 80s aesthetic including cultural references and 80s music, something audiences hadn’t seen before. In addition, the characters played a huge role in stranger things’ success. The exploration of friendships and relationships enticed many audiences.

The target audience of sherlock is mystery enthusiasts, adults and fans of British dramas with and intellectual edge. Sherlock has been hugely popular both in the UK and internationally, with a huge fanbase. The show received high ratings and several awards and is popular among those who enjoy clever mysteries and sharp dialogue. Sherlock became a national phenomenon for many reasons. One of these being its strong social media presence. Fans used platforms like Twitter to share their theories, and fan-created content. Hashtags like #Sherlock, #SherlockHolmes, and #Cumberbatch were used to discuss the show, share fan art, and dissect episodes in real-time.
