Analysis of Film Poster 1


 

     

 

In this poster, the dark background creates a sense of suspense and mystery as you cannot see anything in the darkness, this is followed by the red outfit as it is predominantly a warning colour, which could also represent blood signifying danger which also emphasises the genre by creating an ominous atmosphere. The mirrored image using the mask is supernatural and out of the ordinary.


It also shows self-reflection of two people, which could show that this person has different personalities, one good and on bad which adds to the thriller genre, followed by the woman’s facial expression which is very serious and scary. The title us is very simple yet quite powerful as it is one isolated word, coinciding with the theme of the film, making it feel tense and stranded.

Ideas For My Thriller Series

  Idea 1: My first idea is to create a thriller poster based on a girl that went missing during her childhood and based on clues and evidence, her family is trying to find her. The plot twist is that her dad kidnapped her, but her family are unaware of this. My poster will include a missing poster on a lamppost near to a dark forest, with the dad behind with a secretive and sly facial expression. Key colours will include red for the ‘missing’ text with dim lighting. The title will be ‘lost’ and will be aimed at 16–25-year-old tv thriller fans. Idea 2: My second idea is to create a thriller poster based on a group of teenagers at a boarding school who keep receiving anonymous calls from a mysterious number.
